"MQTT Bhai" App Privacy Policy

Unlike many apps, "MQTT Bhai" is a "client-side" tool.

  • Broker Credentials: To function, the app requires your MQTT Broker details (Host, Port, Username, and Password). This information is stored locally on your device using encrypted storage. We never transmit these credentials to our servers.
  • Sensor & Payload Data: The data sent or received via your MQTT broker (e.g., temperature, switch states) stays between your device and your broker. We do not intercept, log, or store this data.

2. Device Permissions

To provide a full IoT experience, the app may request the following:

  • Internet: Required to connect to your local or cloud-based MQTT broker.
  • Notifications: Used only if you configure the app to alert you about specific MQTT topic changes.
  • Storage (Optional): Used if you choose to export or import your dashboard configuration files.

3. Third-Party Services

  • Google Play Services: The app uses Google Play Services for app updates and basic crash reporting to help us fix bugs.
  • External Brokers: If you connect to a third-party broker (like HiveMQ, Adafruit IO, or AWS IoT), your data is subject to their respective privacy policies.

4. Data Deletion

Since we do not store your data on our servers, you have full control:

  • You can delete all saved broker info and dashboard layouts by clearing the app data in your Android Settings or by uninstalling the app.

5. Children’s Privacy

Our app does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.

1. Log Files and Analytics
